Re: Folk Metal

Korpiklaani ftw. How could anyone hate a band that sings about beer?

Re: Folk Metal

Well,

Coming from a very morale person.

Songs about beer sum up to disgusting and improper for the influence of people who could be potential drunk drivers or even murderers.

....

It is red ribbon week so forgive me for my bluntness.

Re: Folk Metal

Um...yeah, you can't go assuming everyone who enjoys beer gets piss drunk and goes out and drives or even gets drunk. There are those of us who have heard of drinking responsibly. It's the same as someone shooting another person. Blame the person pulling the trigger, not the weapon itself. It doesn't pull it's own trigger.

Don't blame the booze, blame the idiot who didn't know when to stop.

Re: Folk Metal

So, your telling my brother who claims to be a responsible driver, hit a man driving drunk
Is the idiot. "Bars have parking lots"

it was a bad decision of him to start taking the stuff in the first place.
Starting is the dumb thing.

There are things called unacceptable risks and bad breath.

Not a fan of either.

I am sorry for any sparked anger, not bashing totally on your beer beliefs for you can have the same problems with loud music downloads or from texting while driving.
Just a shout out for safety.

Re: Folk Metal

You're being ignorant.

It's not the fault of the BEER, it's the fault of the PERSON. People have different tolerance levels and it's YOUR responsibility to know how much booze is your limit. I hardly ever drink at all and on the rare occasion that I do, I know I'll have a buzz after one beer so that's all I have. My husband can down literally ten shots of tequila and 5 or 6 beers and he's completely normal, as if he didn't drink at all.

Know your limit. If you don't, you're an idiot.

Using your brother was a poor example. Sorry but he sounds like he's pretty irresponsible and it's foolish of you to think that someone is something just because they say they are. I could say I'm a rich celebrity with 17 sports cars, would you believe me? Probaby not so you're not exactly bright, either, if he tells you he's responsible yet goes out and acts dumb.

I can't stand people who think everyone who does something they don't do is some kind of moron. Good for you, you don't like to drink, I really don't like it much myself, but I'm not going to be an anal bitch and think everyone who enjoys booze is some kind of disgusting piece of shit. It's all about responsibility and it's really stupid of you to hold what some people do against everyone else. I'm sure a number of people here who drink aren't stupid idiots who will go drive a car when they know they're loaded.

Get over yourself.

Re: Folk Metal

Very sorry,

Can't recall how we got thrown off to this tangent.

....

Anyways here is a technical definition of the genre.

"Folk metal is a sub-genre of heavy metal music that developed in Europe during the 1990s. As the name suggests, the genre is a fusion of heavy metal with folk music. This includes the widespread use of folk instruments and, to a lesser extent, traditional singing styles."

Re: Folk Metal

I got this DVD on Ebay. Watched it tonight. Have seen Sam Dunn's other 2 docos, which I really liked, but I thought this was actually his best effort. Quite eye opening, as to the exotic and highly unexpected places Metal has now reached.

thanks!
